Brief summary: Ali is a young man who lives in Baghdad who loves soccer and playing with his friends. When bombs begin to drip there is little the can comfort the boy from the loud noises and shakes of his house. Late one night the boy begins writing "Silent Music". He is writing calligraphy in the beautiful and complicated language of Arabic.
How you would use the book with students.: This is a book that I could use to address many educational topics such as war, the Arabic Culture, and the art of calligraphy.
