Brief summary:
Duck was a farm animal who one day decided that he would learn to ride a bike. As Duck passes by the other animals on the farm they all comment about how strange and funny the duck looks on a bike. By the end of the story all of the animals wanted their turn on a bike. They were in luck because several children rode onto the farm and parked their bikes. All of the animals got their turn and enjoyed it!
How I would use the book, with students.
I would use this book in different ways depending on the age group to which I was reading it. If I were instructing a younger group of preschooler s or kindergartners I would use the book to talk about different types of animals on a farm and the noises they make.
For an older group I would discuss the idea that although an idea may seem unorthodox or strange, does not mean they shouldn’t try the idea.
